This park has been a part of our lives since 2002. It was a lazy afternoon, the weather was not so warm that you couldn't breathe and there was a gentle breeze. This made for a great day for walking and spending some time together outside with man-made and nature made living things and the sun.
Yes, I'm wearing my purse while walking, because I'm the official "family carrier".
Being the carrier means that my purse has water, keys, wallets, make up bags, coupons, etc.
I was in pink state of mind. I wore:
Old Target shirt
Old Navy (made in Indonesia) capris
Bueno purse purchased in 2012 for my Bahamas Vacation
Avia walking shoes, a gift from my mom and purchased at her favorite Macy's store.
My only accessories were some of my old Indian bracelets.
The girls and I were photographed by my youngest daughter's friend that was spending the weekend at our house and that we took for a walk with us.
Like I said: it was a breezy, lazy day for us as well as for the birds.
Here is where my oldest daughter used to practice and play soccer with her high school team.
I spend many nights cheering and offering support after her team lost a game right on those benches.
For some reason that escapes me at the moment, here in South Florida the lakes designers (I believe that there is such a tittle) enjoy putting this things in the middle of the man-made lakes? I guess to make sure that we know "the man" was here!
When I was going through an avalanche of personal, financial, health and family problems; I used to sit in this bench and cry on the phone to my friend Luz, my ex-sister in law, my friend Maria and my friend Marta.
It's not as if I don't have many of the same problems, because trust me I still do!
it's that from 2005-2009 things were a lot more complicated and difficult for me than they are now. Maybe what has changed is how I approach things.
A family of ducks. It strike me that I usually only see one parent with the offspring.
It was nice to see the entire family together going for an afternoon stroll.
Owls are protected in this park and they've made their borrow in this same area since I started to come to the park back in '02.
Our view on the way to the parking lot.
We are having Monday off, thanks to all The USA Presidents!
We're also supposed to have 45-65 degree temperatures and rain; the rain is needed since everything is a little brown due to the lack of rain and the 80's degree weather that we've been experiencing.
I'm looking forward to wearing my tights and ankle boots to work next week...

I love that there are owls just out in the open like that. We have owls around here but you'll never see them- only hear there hooting every now and then. They're like they mythical creatures of East Texas.
Hollie, I like the mythical creatures of East Texas name and I think the owls would really like the name as well!!!
I am so glad that owls are protected where you are. In my area owls are near extinction. It is very sad.
Love the capris!
Guapas las tres.

Birdie, owls near extinction? That is sad because they are in most part of the world except for extreme cold places like Antarctica!
Sacramento, muchas gracias!
Esta en los genes (por supuesto la modestia tambien)!!!!!
Claire, the weather is the best thing about living here. The traffic and the salaries sucks but the weather is glorious!
I'll be emailing you my post soon.
I hate to think of you crying on that bench and that you've sadness in your life once more. I always like to think of you happy, with your beautiful smile and gorgeous daughters' company.
Love the owl and would kill for some of that warmth. xxx
Vix, you are too sweet! and yes it did happened but like I said, I think that my approach to things have change with age and with the fact that crying or not crying I still have to deal with lifes' many obstacles.
We are having a cool front this weekend but its probably still warmer than what you are experiencing at home.
I agree with Vix, I always think of you with that beautiful smile. The fact that life is still difficult and that you manage to keep smiling makes me admire you even more.
I love that pic of you and your girls and the insight into a small part of your everyday life and scenery. The owl is wonderful. xxx
Freckleface, thank you for such heart felt comment!
Yes, my girls and I have been through many rough patches but we have always manage to stick together.
The fact that most of the cities in South Florida protect our owls speaks volume about some of the good policies that are in place by our local politician and by our environmental organizations.
You look great in pink !

Nada tan hermoso como disfrutar de un paseo en compañía de la familia, me alegra ver que usted está mejor ahora que hace algunos años atrás, disfrutar del buen clima y de your hijas, el mayor regalo del cielo!
You and your girls look so pretty and happy!!! I love your pink capris and I had to crack up at being the family carrier (I am, too... I was also the purse holder in my younger days when I'd go dancing with my girlfriends, lol). Your photos of the park are sunny and inviting on this COLD morning! :)
Hi my dear-You and your girls look really radiant, stylish and happy here! I am pleased to hear that although you are still experiencing life's obstacles you are managing to deal with them better now than you have done. Take care and best wishes xxx
Luna, thank you!
Rosy, las cosas simples son las que traen mas unidad y mas bellos recuerdos!
Wendy, last night was so cool and I'm glad that is President's Day today and that we have the day off.
I too has been my friend's keys and female stuff carrier for years. Especially because I always had a thing for purses and never left the house without one.
Sharon, thank you my dear!
Dealing with difficulties is part of life and I just had to learn to take them as they come and to relax about it.
I love the picture of you and your daughters!! You all look so beautiful and you can feel the love. I enjoyed your pictures and the little bit of personal history. I'd like to think that one of the perks of getting older is that we do approach things differently, with more wisdom and insight. I'm glad to know things are easier for you at this stage.
Have a wonderful week. xxoo
Jean, you are very wise about aging. Taking things in strike does comes with age, there is no way that 5 years ago I would had being able to deal with many of my daily difficulties with the positivism and ease that I do now.
Thanks for your comment about my girls and I. We do argue and we do have many bumpy moments but at the end of the day we work it out.
Ofelia, how lovely to see that you're able to wear capris! Ay chica, que envidia! It's supposed to snow in my neck of the woods tomorrow! Sigh. I shall live vicariously through you, my friend. The little owl in the park was delightful! I didn't even know they came out during the day! We have plenty of duck families here but they're in the cold, pobrecitos! I cannot wait to break out my warmer clothes. I'm sick of having to layer and wear a coat, scarf, and mittens! Hugs! :)
Bella, hola mija!!!
I remember those cold freezing days and night during my 6 years living in NYC!!!!
Aww I love the little owl! We've got owls in the swamp/woods behind our house, but they are big. Like hunt down the cats big. They are awesome to watch; especially when they are flying away with a snake, lol.
Your girls are lovely and look so much like you!
Jude, Thank you about my girls! I always say that all their best features as well as their brains came from me!!!
OMG, please take a picture of one of those owls with the snake!
