What I've being...

I tried to post 3 to 4 times a week, but this week its being at bit difficult to get my pictures download and get moving with the writing!
Lots of homework, grades, mami's duties, cooking, reading and checking my lovely blogger friend's posts---have left me very little available time!!!!

Here are two of this week's outfits.....

My favorite skinny jeans.
Liz&Co jacket from JCPenney (6 years old).
The Limited purse, thrifted last month. I adore this purse!
It's so feminine and very spacious!

My "Roman" sandals. I called them Roman because my youngest
daughter wore them for her performance as a Roman soldier in the comedy
A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum last fall. And they are still standing
like a Roman column.
The brown belt was thrifted back in February and has the
a pretty big buckle!

The first necklace, I bought it from my old friend Carmen back in 2002.
She brought it from The Dominican Republic and came with the ring.
You can see the ring in the second picture.
The other two are from Steinmart (I think).

The bracelets are from India and are all gifts.
Sorry but
no time to take close up photos of the bracelets and rings.

I love this t-shirt. A lot of people at my job and when I'm out
doing chores, would asked me if I only buy
products that are not tested on animals. A colleague told
me how proud she is of me for supporting this cause!!!!
Really, people this is a sarcastic shirt!! The mouse is taking
a freaking test--not being plucked to pieces!!

Cardigan from Target (ages old).
Men's Target Shirt (2007).
Belt was thrifted last month and still has the original $24.00
sticker on. I paid $2.00 for it.
It has beautiful little red, yellow and green
flowers.
a.n.a. Sandals, thrifted last month.

My jeans from New York and Company from 2007.
They go up to my anckles but I never like how they fit
on my legs so I been
folding them into capris for many years now!
The 3 bracelets on my left arm are made of wood
and were thrifted many moons ago and the one
in my right arm belongs to A.

The Who, one of my favorite bands of all times!!
I have seen them twice; my favorite was in 1989 at Tampa Stadium!
I cried and almost hyperventilated because I was so overwhelmed
with emotions!  As a young girl I was in
deep and utter in love with Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend!!
I move to The USA for the first time in 1988; this concert was
one of the first miracles on my life
in The USA.

Both necklaces are very hippie-like with a touch of Caribbean
flavor and they are from Steinmart. I bought them as a
present to myself on my birthday back in 2008.

Rock rings. Indian purse, a gift from Shafali (2007).

I want to take this opportunity to thank all of my new stylish and quite gorgeous followers and let you know that I always read and comment in all of you blogs (as well as follow).
I love reading about other women's life and how similar and at the same time different we are!

Some of my new followers have such amazing ---styles, photography skills, hobbies,
community involvement, cultural background, great shoes, purses, accessories----
that makes me want to do better with my blog and with my life!!!

This day .....

I wore this outfit on March 16th to go to class and to go thrifting....

The jacket is a Martha B. from Marshalls (between 5-6 years old).
My favorite Jimi Shirt from the men's section at Target (7 years old).

The belt is made from Indian silk and it was a present from my friend
and co-worker, Kamla!!!
My Jeanstar jeans
(The tag says made in Kenya, I never read it before!!!)
from Walmart or Marshalls (very old).

Ana sandals from Marshalls (very old as well).
Rampage purse, thrifted at the Salvation Army in
Ft. Lauderdale about 8 years ago.
Bracelets from Dots and Steinmart.
Rings from a local Brazilian store.

All necklaces courtesy (gifts) of my dearest friend, for the last 17 years, Luz!!!!
We bought most of these necklaces together at The Limited in Lower Manhattan back
in the mid 90's and she gave them to me when she came to visit us about 5
years ago!!!

Earrings from a local Indian store.
Birthmarks (my friends used to call them, my
vampire marks) a gift from birth parents!

The close up is from the lovely and funny Sarah (From Misfits)!!!
I know that you are having problems commenting on blogs but I know you
will read this!!!
By the way our camera has a dirt inside the lenses;
so all of my photos have this particular dirt on it!
It's not the shirt and it's not my nipple!!!!!!!!

Here are some of the other extraordinaries items I got from my Salvation Army store, from Thriftarella's and from the animal rescue Thrift Store...

Three skirts and black and white purse!

This lovely lace skirt is Arden B. and I saw it at my Salvation Army store
for about 2 weeks! I finally got it when it was half price!!

This is a Regina Kravitz, New York skirt and has a lovely ruffle
and a bit of discoloration but I did not care because I can always
disguise these few imperfections!

A planet Gold skirt, made in India.
It suppose to be hand wash
but I just put it the washer on special!
I'm in love with the lace!

This bag does not have a name tag but I thought the pattern
was very mid-century inspired and I couldn't
let it go for half price (paid $2.50).

Marvellous variety of goodies, isn't??

I think the tag says: Swaui and it's made in the USA!!!
Sadly you don't see many Made in the USA tags on clothes anymore!
Its a little big on me but the print and the sleeves details are so beautiful!!

This short sleeves cardigan is from A. Byer, California and its also
Made in The good USA!!!!!
Love the pearl-like buttons.
It's going to be ironed very well before I'll use it because this is how it looks after
its been washed and in the drying rack. Younger daughter already wore it!!!

This brand of jackets  always has this message on the inside of their jackets.
I saw this same jacket at Marshalls and Steinmart about 4 years ago.
I believe it was about $40.00 and I got it for $4.50!!!!

Skulls, flowers and nice rustic looking bottoms!!!

Charter Club, cotton, made in India, pink shirt!!!
Cotton, pink, made in India what else but utter
love can this garment inspire!!!!

Finally my other love--accessories!
The bangles have no tags but they are yellow,
gold and red, need to say no more.
All necklaces are handmade in The Philippines and
had been at the store for about a month.
I kept looking at them all this time but my
small shopping budget did not allow me to get them until now!

Washer, dryer and much more...

It's been a while since I got my washer and dryer  (thanks to my little tax return check, that's already gone)!!

The pile of laundry and many other living experiences had stopped me from posting about it!

So this post is dedicated to some new, some old, some exercise related and some eatable things around my house...

My dryer.
I hardly ever used it because I been using a drying rack for the last 3 years
to save energy and a little money.
It takes longer to do the laundry but we are already used
to it. Our electric bill is about $40.00 less every month!!!!

My washer.
The piles of laundry are gone and its so good not having to
take any clothes to the clearners!!

Stuff on the top shelves by the washer.
Extra candles and two extra candle holders that I used during our candelights dinners!
The neccessary cooler and a paper mache star lamp that I don't want to put outside
because I don't want the weather to damage it!

Stuff by the dryer.
I used to collected Jim Shore, Heartwood Creek angels.
They adorn the laundry area and the dinning room table.
And of course a cd player to listen to my music!!

Last Wednesday I purchased two patio chairs at my
Salvation Army store for a small amount of money plus 20% off.

I had placed  them in the corners that I used
to sit, read and print my papers.

The red pillows are from Pier 1 and I got them back in 2004 for my
dinning room chairs. When I change the dinning room pillows I saved this ones
in plastics bags in my closet!

My home gym!!!
The mat is used by all of us to do streches at
different times of the day and of the week!

The black weights are for my anckles and the orange ones are for my wrists!
The anckles weights have helped aliviate my knee's pain which was unbearable from 2005-2007.
I went trough many test and tried taking over the counter meds but I don't like taking anything; so most of the time I was dealing with lots of pain!
My primary care doctor is a fantastic women and she explainned and recommend me some specific
exercise and stretches that had really helped me!!!

My lovely turquoise kitchen containers!
Two have brown rice, one has white rice
and the last one (from left to right) is brown sugar for our coffee!
Also french bread! We can eat a whole loaf in a day!!!

Olive oil and vinegar containers from a Target collection back in 2004.
We use honey for tea and I put it on my oranges!
Coasters from Pier 1.

My spices cabinet. As you can see, I'm a fan of Badia!!!

Teas, the only can goods I buy, ice cream glasses,
cocktail shaker and litle umbrellas!

My pasta, brown sugar and beans cabinet!!!

Have a lovely rest of the week....

Last Sunday visit and some of last week's finds...

Last Sunday we went to Miami Beach to visit mami....

Driving from my daughter's friend's house,
after picking up the camera!!

Finally in Miami Beach!
This building entrance is so cool!!!

It's a half moon or it's a "c"??

Mami and I!
She gave me sandals to walk around because
my sandals were not so walking friendly!

This sculpture is at the Collins Park (Collins Ave) and
is called Tempest 2010 by Brian Tolle.
Is open and is a maze,
we ran around it and inside of it!!!

This is the outside of a round building with
amazing carvings on it (sorry did not wrote the artist name).

All this beautiful trees are surrounded by busts of Latin American Liberators.
Mami told my girls and my niece, that ever since the age of two I would hug trees,
pick flowers and branches from them and
tried to plant them in our backyard or in pots!!!

Little me and this beauty of a three!!!!!

Mami and I at The New World Center Gardens.
This is the house of the New World Symphony
and was design by the great Frank Gehry.
Its also by Temple Emanu-El were we went to a concert last month.

Here is what I wore: New York Shirt from Gildam, thrifted last week.
The shirt says" New York, Greatest City In The World".
BushWacker skirt, thrifted in February.
Belt from my apt9 skirt.

My Italian wedges.
I have the tendencies to never completely "buckle" (or tie) my sandals.

This lovely and small bag
has no brand or made on tags and can only
carry my wallet and my keys.
Thrifted last week!!!

My religious bracelets from my church store (from 2007).
Mother of pearl bracelet from Steinmart
(from 2003, I think, it may be older!).
The hearts and the Louis Vuitton bracelets were a
find at some thrift store
in Boca Raton (6 years old) and are A's.
Earrings from the same thrift store (6 years old as well)
and the ring was a gift.
