Last week of summer-work dressing and...

Two weeks ago marked the end of my summer job and this past week marks the beginning of my regular job.
I'm tired, a bit crazy, overloaded with paperwork but very happy to continue working on my passion and to have a job that allows me to support my family and enjoy having some medical benefits; and sometimes a little extra to go out and have fun.

This is what I wore on my last week of slacks-only summer work attire:

Orange Crush shirt is from Target and its my homage to my favorite soda; well I must say "besides Coca Cola".

Isaac Mizrahi  capris from his Target line.

Kenar cardigan  and Converse tennis shoes both purchased at Marshalls years ago.

No name purse from a no name store (sorry I don't remember where I got it).

Thrifted belt. Necklaces from Bealls Outlet and bracelets from Steinmart.

My Sweetheart, made in Cambodia and already worn red pants.

Old shirt and cardigan from Target.

Converse tennis, thrifted 5 months ago.

This photo is the no-flash version..

Necklaces: the first two are from Bealls and the last one was just thrifted last month.

Bracelets: some are from Steinmart, some are thrifted  and others from my local Indian store.

Sun 'N' Sand purse.

Prospirit shirt, made in Mongolia (I have this shirt for so long and I never read the label until now).

Evie cardigan, made in Hong Kong and purchased at one of the stores at Broward Mall in Plantation 4 years ago.

Worthington long shorts, made in Indonesia and also purchased in Broward Mall.

My old trustees Easy Spirits Mary Janes purchased about a century ago at the easy spirit store here in Plantation, Fl.

My necklace is from Steinmart and its probably about 6 years old.

Bracelets from Claires, DOTS and the silver ones are from all the places that I have lived.

Andy Wharhol's  soup purse.

Worthington pants, made in Guatemala. They are the same brand and I purchased them in the same store but they are made in two far-from-each-other parts of the world!

Swaui blouse, made in The USA (with the strange name you would think otherwise) and thrifted back in March.

Necklace and bracelets are from Steinmart and are about 4 years old.

Rampage purse also from ages ago.

Thrifted belt.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all of my followers and the loveliest, super kind, witty, stylish and smart ladies that always take time out of their busy lives to comment on my blog.

I believe in personal connections no matter how far we are from one another and I have genuine love and admiration for all of you.

I'm going to be taking a few months off from blogging because my life is a bit complicated (in a good way) and busy-crazy right now.

I'll have lots of photos and outfits to show when I come back and I'll will miss reading all of your amazing blogs.

Con Amor,

The orange Crush shirt is great! It almost makes me want to go out and buy a Crush! Mmm! Or at least that is how I remember one. Probably too sweet now.

Ofelia said...

Madison, thank you so much for your kind words!

Ofelia said...

Birdie, I love my Crush! As a matter of fact I just had a glass today with my rice, black beans, salmon and vegetables!
And yes, Crush its very sweet; its mainly food coloring and sugar.

That black and white blouse is lovely!

Ofelia--I was stunned to read about your "sabbatical" from blogging, but I understand. My household is undergoing big changes with my daughter starting school tomorrow and our grandson and my semester beginning. Believe me, I do understand.

I love the pairing of orange and grey in the first photo and the Warhol soup purse. Best of luck on your endeavors this semester.

Wendy, thank you very much!
Its one of my favorite blouses as well and I wore it a few times before with jeans and capris.

Terri, I'm going through something similar with my oldest daughter leaving to go to another university 170 miles away and my youngest one starting her senior year and the beginning of the school year as well as a major endorsement test that I'll need to take and 2 more online classes to finish!!!

Ofelia said...

Viviane, thank you my dear.
The red pants has gotten a lot of usage since I got them. I guess because they are very comfortable and red!

Ofelia said...

Claire, thanks so much and of course as soon as I come back I'll be reading and checking all of your amazing fitness program and your lovely family outings.

Ofelia said...

Tabouleh, I love Orange Crush soda and I wear this shirt every time I can; and my favorite way to wear black is to mix it with white.

Ofelia said...

Sacramento, mil gracias!

Paula, thanks so much!
I agree with you about taking a break when when feel we need to. I don't like to do things half way and if I commit to blogging its because I like to express what is going on my life and share my bloggers friends adventures and I'm not going to have the time to do so.

I said it before, and I say it again: I LOVE you in colors!

Oh and that last part of your text... I am a bit sad to see you go.. even if it's just for a while, you know a lot of bloggers take some time off never to come back again... so I hope you will, but you do what you have to do and enjoy life as I know you will!

A lot of changes here too, I am moving into my first house (will be a tenant, I have rented an appartment in London before, but this is on my own, so it's not the same), I have a job interview on friday (architect, ecolgically minded) and one on Tuesday (KU Leuven, a VERY famous university, known worldwide (it's like the Yale or Harvard of Belgium :)) so I hope I'll get the job... either one is good, but this one has my own preference). So I decided to come back and make my blog a little more ecologically inspired... it took me a while and now.. you are leaving :)pfff okay I'll miss you and hope you'll have a great second half of the year!!

xxxx

Ofelia said...

Paula, you are so kind to me!
I'll try to make back to at least check your and my other fantastic blogger friends blogs!
Its just very difficult to find the time right now with my girls schools, my job, my school work and some requirements that I must complete in order to keep my job.
Please email me when you come this way so we can meet and maybe do lunch and some thrifting.
Besos,

Ofelia said...

Angie, I'm so glad that you going to have the opportunity to work in a company that is ecologically minded and that you are moving into a house. I lived in apartments for many years and I'm enjoying being in a house now even though is a lot of more work.
I'll be checking your new blog soon and I'll definitive be back blogging because I have a personal connection with many of you (including yourself) and I already miss that connection. Also its being hard to get in the computer just to do my work without thinking about reading and commenting on my friends blogs!

loving the turquoise and red ensemble but then again I am a sucker for red! miss you lady!

Ofelia said...

Mrs. Exeter, thank you so much! I love color and I tried to wear as much as I can without looking like a "crazy island lady".
We are all doing great but it's been very hard to keep my self induce time off from blogging because I miss all of my lovely blogger friends but at the same time I'm on top of all of my new semester work and I'm also spending a lot of more time with my family in Miami.

Ofelia said...

Shulamit, red goes well with everything and I love turquoise as well so it was an easy choice to mix the two.
I'll miss too and I'll be back very soon.

Hi Ofelia, just checking where you were and you're gone! You take as long as you need and hope everything calms down eventually. xx

Ofelia said...

Fabienne, thanks so much my dear friend!
I'm doing great working a lot on my classes and doing a lot of phone talking with friends and family since I promise myself to do very little emailing or facebooking. I'll be back in a couple of weeks with a bit of less paperwork and a lot of photos.

Ofelia said...

Loo, I'm still here I just needed to take some time off to concentrate on my family and on my classes because it was getting a bit overwhelming. I'm almost all catch up and ready to be back in blogger land.
Thank you very much for taking the time to stop by and check on me.
Love, Ofelia.
