After a busy work week, less than memorable outfits, some bumps in the work-road and many hours of mami taxi and house chores; I was in a mood for some music, sand, and maybe a drink or two.
A friend of my friend Jeniffer invited us to listen to a free reggae concert at the beach theatre in Hollywood Beach. She also offer to drive us, and there was another one of Jeniffer's friends that was going to meet us there.
I wore:
My just thrifted Mossimo jeans. My old Geoffrey Beene white shirt.
Thrifted belt and also thrifted Montego Bany Club sandals.
Dolce &Gabanna purse thrifted about 21/2 months ago for $6.00 at my favorite Salvation Army store.
Sorry the photo is very blurry.
I thought the purse was a good fake until I took it home and started to clean the inside that I found the tag and an additional brand hologram sewn to the inside of it.
The necklaces are from a local store (I think Bealls) and I bought them back in 2007 because I needed them to match a dress.
Bracelets are all thrifted few years back.
Finally at Hollywood beach! There is a free parking lot right by the beach area.
Free parking, free concert, free beach, free ride to the beach; makes for a fantastic evening!
It was windy and warm at the same time. Hey its Florida weather and its as crazy as most of us that have the pleasure of living here.
This is the band. They played reggae, some pop, latino songs and some Marley.
There were a lot of more people dancing around than shows on my photos.
We were sitting and dancing in our area. Jenny and the others have beer to hold so it made more comfortable to sit.
It was getting darker as the band play on.
We stop by one of the small restaurant by the boardwalk and Jeniffer and company order this beer pitcher.
I don't like cheap beer so I got...
A vanilla ice cream cone for $2.50.
After the music, the beer and the ice cream cones we walked by the beach.
I got my feet wet; it was so refreshing and calming.
Some of the hotel and condominiums near by.
Another view as we were walking back to the car. The beach was full of families and couples just hanging around and getting into the water.
On the way back to the car; it got so hot and even though it was almost 12:00 a.m. as we were leaving the beach was just getting busier.

Wow - I love when you show us pics of your part of the world, Ofelia. It is so different from where I live. You look absolutely gorgeous and I love your amazing D&G bargain bag!
Sarah xxx
You wear a classic outfit with such style and class, those pieces of jewellery and beautiful bag are just perfect.
A free reggae gig on a beach? Life couldn't get much better. x
PS I love most lager but Bud is just wrong.
I think it is so awesome that you buy so many of your clothes from thrift stores. You always look fabulous!
That sandy beach is so inviting. I live a couple of blocks from the Pacific Ocean but it is very rocky. Nevertheless, I still love it.
What a perfect evening. You are so lucky to live in such a fabulous part of the world. Love the outfit (as always). Vix is right, you always looks so stylish and classy.
I finally recognize a place I have been. My daughter went to Johnson and Wales in Miami and worked in Hollywood. I love Hollywood because of the fact that it's not as busy as Miami. You look super and you look like you had fun. Way to go.
Sarah, I as well love to see pictures of Canberra, Australia. Our places are different but our experiences somehow are very similar!
Vix, I know about Bud that's why I was content with my vanilla ice cream cone!
Birdie, the ocean is so therapeutic for our spirit, rocks and all!
I do love buying in thrift stores and for the last 20 something years I had enjoyed the trills of a great bargain and of buying brands that I no longer can affort in a retail store.
Judy, I'm glad that you were here before and that you enjoy Hollywood Beach.
And yes, you are right about being less busy and I must add less crazy than Miami Beach.
Lovely Pictures i so want to walk on that beech, love your outfit :)
Cuantas cosas maravillosas has hecho mi preciosa Ofelia. Me encanta todo, pero el bolso es lo másssssssssssss.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXxx
Nothing so chic as a white blouse with jeans and the accessories are awesome, especially the collar.
You look really pretty!
XX. Y.
Eres genial!!!
Clairejustine, the walk on the beach was very calming and rewarding. I got to exercise and feel the ocean water at the same time.
Sacramento, mil gracias!
Como has notado me gusta salir y pasarla bien con mi familia y mis amistades y la playa es uno de los mejores lugares para pasarla bien.
Yoana, you are so right a white shirt and jeans is always classic, chic and very easy to wear.
Rosy, es un amor! A mi me encanta como usted tiene abanicos y los accessorios perfectos para cada una de sus creaciones.
Great outfit, simple and chic! And especially love your bangles.

Dale, thanks for following my blog, I'm following yours as well.
I couldn't believe that the D&G was real and that I got it so cheap. It was pure thrift magic.
Fabienne, its a great compliment that you like my photos because you have great photograpy skills!
Hi my dear-what a classic and stylish outfit, you look wonderful and the bag was such a fabulous find. What a grand evening, sounds so perfect and your pictures are great too! xx
I love your outfit - just right for the occasion. That bag is a MAJOR find! What a fun evening - you always seem to find such interesting things to do! xxx
Sharon, the bag was an amazing lucky find and its spacious enough to carry my makeup bag, a bottle water, my camera and two cell phones!
Mrs. Exeter, I love going out and this particular evening I only spend the $2.50 for the ice cream cone. I'm blessed with good friends that like to take me out.
Loo, for some reason blogger took your comment as spam; that's why I wasn't able to respond to it. Blogger is always doing some crap to mess us up. But I still love blogging!
Anyway thank you so much for your lovely comment.
Beautiful beads and love the picture of you on the beach : )

really love the pics from this beautiful beach, a free concert is not bad, isn't it? :)
Sweetheart, I am feeling so happy reading your post, imagining my self there with you, dancing to the music and marveling at the beauty of the moment. Thank you for sharing. As I am going through a divorce now and am broke and not living at home (staying with friends so that my ex can be in the comfort of my home, he is very ill, don`t know if I told you), going to your blog and hanging out with you feels like a taste of a get away. Thank you for that. You have my heart. Besos.
I love to DANCE to reggae music...and would have a hard time sitting still. Would also have a hard time keeping my shoes on if I had a beach to walk along. You're dressed perfectly for the evening. I really like the bracelets.
There's nothing more classic and beautiful than a crisp white blouse and jeans. (with great accessories!) Wish I were there with you...altho the weaather is finally summer here....but not many concerts on the beach. And such a cute little theater!
Michelle, thank you!
The beach is always a beautiful place to be photograph on just like all of your lovely vacation photos.
Viviane, yes the beach and a free concert makes a perfect night!
Anika, I'm so touch that you come to read my blog to escape for a bit. I wish I can do more!
Mil besos y abrazos,
Terri, I love all music including raggae and taking my shoes off and feel the ocean water is always refreshing for the feet and for the soul.
Paula, I'm happy that you getting some warm weather and maybe the concerts on the beach will be the next thing to come.
You have such a cool life Miss Ofelia!
You look great and you play great and there is nothing better than the seaside.
I just gotta, gotta, gotta break some bread with youuuu. Got chile?
Miss Paula, I agree with you that there is nothing better than the seaside.
What does got chile means?
maybe my spelling is bad. well, yes it is. you know, hot chilli pepper sauce to dip the bread into. is that how you spell chilli?
my english spelling often misses.
