As you may have noticed I've not been able to post many photos of my daily outfits, my cooking, the books that I'm reading or my lucky thrift finds because I haven't had the time to either take the photos in the morning or to download them.
So I've been concentrating in posting all of my outings. I do go out often with my friends or my kids and I usually do something that I'm interest in. I have a very small entertainment budget, so many times my friends and I split the costs.
I also always on the look out for discounts from my Union website or from local websites. I love going out because it helps expand my horizons and the view of my piece of Earth and the people that I'm sharing it with.
So finally, Saturday, May 28th I made some plans to meet with my favorite British friend, Judith for an early dinner at Chipotle in Ft. Lauderdale and for a movie afterwards.
I wore:
my brand spanking new thrift St. John's Bay blouse.
Thrifted belt, purchased four months ago.
Be Bop capris wore before here.
My very old and so very comfortable Roman sandals;
No wonder they were able to conquered Europe.
I mean, I know that it was not only the sandals but I bet they helped!!!
No real need for an extra photo, I just like how the outfit (in other words, me) looks!
Sun "n" Sand purse purchase long time ago.
This means that it was so long ago that I can't
remember.
All the necklaces are from The Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico and are made from
plant seeds. Some of the necklaces date back to the mid 70's when my mom
visited my grandma.
Rings from local Brazilian store. Large wood bracelet from local Indian store and the bangles are from DOTS and thrifted.
My salad bowl from Chipotle.
It had rice, beans, corn, guacamole and spicy chicken.
I love light fixtures and architectural details. This is not a surprise if you have read my blog before.
The wall mural Aztecs Gods or maybe just Aztecs symbols.
The decoration in the other Chipotle (at Sawgrass in Plantation) is completely different as seen in here.
After dinner I drove to the movie theater (Gateway) and parked in the small mall next to it.
We got our tickets and have about 40 minutes to wait so we decided to walked around the mall.
This clothing store had this lovely chandelier, it was close so I took the photo from the outside.
This is a very small thing.
This would be a "nipple-kini" for me and most of the women I know.
I made Judith laughed so much with my "nipple-kini" remark!
And then...
We walked into Jezebel because Judith say she and her daughter love this store and she thought that it was my kind of store.
And she was right, the store is full of colorful items and many of my favorite things.
Love the paper mache flowers and the cards are so cool and funny.
Here I'm again with the light fixtures fixiation.
For some odd reason, this one made me think of Space Odity and Bowie.
A bit of medusa in here.
This is by the back of the store where all the clothes are.
A red medusa and some other cool stuff.
I was immediately attracted to this yellow area.
Petticoats.
Gorgeous vintage dresses. I need to save some cashola in order to buy some of them.
Another look at the white medusa and a pink boa.
The room divider is between the dresses area and the store windows.
These bags needed their own photos. Can you see my excitement?
My lovely friend Judith by the purses area.
You see this is my store.
Look at all those colors, they have my name on it.
Fantastic bracelets. The photo is a bit blurry because I was moving to much.
After buying dinner and the movie tickets this was the only item that I love and could afford. My darling Judith got it for me before I got to the register.
Afterwards we went to the movies and got into The Hangover 2 instead of Pirates of the Caribbean 4. It must been meant to be, because we saw the first Hangover together as well and we both loved it.
However, this movie was funny but not as good as the first one, and at times it felt flat. Also how many times are the guys going to be drugged by their friend before they kick his ass for good?
I just came from seeing the wizard, the wonderful wizard of documentaries: Mr. Ken Burns at the Parker Playhouse in Ft. Lauderdale. My nerdy heart is beating so fast...
Off course I'll be posting about it later.

Ofelia by now you must know that I love reading your blog. Maybe I can't articulate it well enough but I feel relaxed when I read your blog. There is a level of comfort in the narration and photos. Maybe because you share a part of your real self without any pretenses. (Sorry for the ramble.)
I love the shirt and Bermudas you are wearing and your comment on the Roman sandals was hilarious. You look cool and stylish! I particularly love the Medusa lamps and
the beautiful tiered petticoats.
P.S. I agree how many times will the Hangover guys be drugged! I look forward to reading your documentary post!
Ambu, I'm speechless and that a rarety for me.
I'm very please and humble that you enjoy reading my blog and that it brings some sort of comfort to you!
LOL @ nipple-kini! I was dismayed looking at the mannequin to remember that my boobies used to be that high. If I am ever going to be in a bikini again the strings around the neck need to be about four feet long.
this store looks fantastic and so hippie-esque! definitely worth to be visited.
Nipple-kini! Love it! Perfect for your next trip to Vegas LOL! So many fantastic lightfittings - I love the 'David Bowie' one! Comfortable sandals the reason for the rise of the Roman Empire? Deffo - but why the fall? Did sandal design become too decadant? LOL xxx
Mi preciosa Ofelia, tu blog es cada vez más interesante y tú más guapa.
QUiero tu bolso de cuadros, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Mil besos, corazón

Hi Ofelia, there's so much to love in this post that I don't know where to start. The checked top you are wearing is lovely and you look gorgeous - as per. Love that store - just my type. I've had my eye on the "medusa" type light shades for an age (kaboom and kappow I think they're called if I remember rightly). Like you, I do like a good light fitting!
Nipple-kini - that's the funniest thing I've heard in a while!
I agree with Ambu - the reason why I like your blog is that you're so welcoming and fun and your outfits rock!
Birdie, we all need extra fabric or extra cover somewhere, isn't? And the best medicine is to accept that fact and laugh about it!
Viviane, if you are ever in the Ft. Lauderdale area I should take you there because it's hippie-like and you would find many things to buy.
Mrs. Exter, I think the Romans got to into themselves "a la hollywwod" and started to wear uncomfortables shoes (sacarms here)!
Sacramento, muchasimas gracias; Especialmento por lo mas guapa!
Que tengas un fantastico fin de semana.
Con mucho amor,
Loo, your are so kind and I'm very thankful for your support and your lovely comments.
Thanks for telling about the medusa lights; I'm going to be checking them online to see if I ever be able to afford one or two.
Your outfit is again super. Of course I love the bag. I'd love to have one.
Your outing looked like fun. But I'm especially in love with the lights. I love anything about lights and of course colors. I wish I were there.
Second attempt at leaving a comment!
So many lovely things to comment on, the chandelier, that glorious shop, you, the nipple-kini (which would cover my boobs with room to spare!).
I agree with everyone else, it's always a delight to visit your blog, I'd love to meet you in real life. too. xxx
I love your bag! what a stunning piece! love the plaid and plaid combo!

Hi my dear-what a lovely post, your new thrifted shirt looks great and I love your checkered bag too, sounds like a really great night out too and Jezebel looks totally amazing with some totally gorgeous pieces too! Thanks for the lovely comment and wishing you a really nice weekend too xxx
Love your blog dear Ofelia. Really I enjoy it.Nice casual outfit, delicious meal, beautiful pics and.....the vintage store is to die for!
Have a nice weekend.:)
Eager to hear about your encounter with Mr. Burns. I think I would have walked out of this store with a bright multi-colored petticoat. We watched the first "hangover" on DVD. Two of my step-sons are 12-steppers. I couldn't watch the entire thing. Dumb, dumb, dumb.
Judy, I think that beacuse I grow up around the bright Caribbean sun that I'm always attracted to any light form.
Vix, just like us breasts come in all sizes and we just have to accept it, have fun with it, get good support and dress them well!
I would love to meet you as well. Hopefully I'll be able to save a bit to go to Europe next Summer.
Lyosha, thanks for taking the time to read and comment on my blog. I really like the plaid bag as well it's very Tommy Hilfiger without the Hilfiger price tag.
Sharon, I always enjoy reading about your fabulous thrift finds and how you adapt fashion trends into your thift purchases.
Yoana, the love is mutual! Every time I read your blog I'm amazed at your amazing outfits and the beautiful views of Las Islas Canarias.
Terri, the petticoats were fantastic but I could only spend a small amount of money and the petticots were over that limit.
About The Hangover, I enjoy the rounchiness of the first one but this one started well and then it became very predictable and boring.
Hi Ofelia,
I love vintage/thrift stores, I always find something. It may not always be an clothing item but there's a little treasure if u look around. I'm about to go right now today. In search of something white.
Ofelia - as always, i LOVE all of your gorgeous jewellery and accessories! That shop looks so much fun - I would love to go shopping with you. The petticoats are my favourite!
Sarah xxx
Nerffeth, you are so right about always finding something special at vintage shops or thift stores!
I hope you find a fabulous white skirt or boho chic shirt during your treasure hunting.
I love your plaid shirt and that purse!! Very chic!! And the accessories you received from your mother (when she was visiting your grandmother) are fab!!
