Wednesday, May 11th...

I usually don't go out during the week because by the time I get home, get all of the evening stuff taken care of and change clothes; I'm so exhausted that the thought of dealing with traffic is beyond me.

But this evening my darling friend Shefali and two of her colleagues were having a poetry reading at a wine bar in Hollywood Beach ( Florida not California).

This is the area where we were all seated.
Great view!

Wine names and prices on a board on top of the bar area.
This is the perfect way to display wine choices for a bunch of teachers and colleges professors.

My choice was the Sherry Hidalgo Gitana (Cherry Hildalgo Gypsy).

Here are the poets: Shefali, Marissa and Kristin.
Shefali just got her book published, Kristin is publishing her second book within the next month and Marissa is publishing her first book within the next couple of months.

Here she is reading a poem related to the myths, fantasies and the realities of motherhood.

A view of some of the attendees before the reading began.

My beautiful, funny and talented friend!

Here we are catching up. Shefali was signing my book while I was joking about how we are able to survived teenager-land.

                                                  Shefali's book.

I just met Marissa for the first time but I felt instantly connected to her lovely spirit and poetry. We were laughing and talking about our lives and the careful balance that we must keep between our creative lives and our academic one.
I always believe in trying to established friendships with many people as possible because I enjoy talking and learning about how other human beings live their lives (or should I say "how other mammals live their lives"?).

This is Marissa's other creative outlet.

The other area of the bar was empty because we all congregate by the reading side and of course closer to the bar.

Some of our purses. Mine is the gold one of course!

Some of the gorgeous crowd, talking, mingling and just having a good time with wine and poems.

The name of this lovely place is: Hollywood Vine. The bartender was very knowledgeable and patience with all of us.

Me before leaving the reading. For a change I was not the last one to go!
I enjoy going out to have fun with friends or by myself especially if it's something that I'm interested in. I do not expend a lot of money in any of my adventures. Most of the time I go to parks and Museum when the tickets are cheaper or I become a member and get discounts. This night I spend $7.00 in the drink, $12.00 in the book and $2.00 in parking. I spend more in gas than in the entire evening.

I wore my old and I thought-I-iron-it before-putting-in-on Target shirt.
Temperley London skirt, thrifted a couple of weeks ago.
Mudd sandals.

I haven't got a gold-like purse in so long that when I saw this one I ran (literally) to get it from the purses rack at my Salvation Army store (two weeks ago).
No name tag; an anonymous purse!

I got the cross pendant many years ago at Steinmart and the other necklace was a gift from Bealls Outlet.

The mother of pearl pink bracelets were a crazy retail moment many years ago. I can't believe now how much I paid for them! The other bracelets and bangles are from the last five years and I purchase them here in South Florida. The rings are also from Steinmart.

A view of the streets by the parking lot where most of us parked. As you can see there were not many people out and we were quite happy and talkative leaving the reading.
Thanks for reading and to all a good night!

Wendy, thanks my dear!
My Hidalgo Gypsy was just perfect; dry enough with a little hint of sweetness!

Mrs. Exeter, it was lots of fun and the bangles are lovely but sometimes I just can't believe how much I paid for them!

Viviane, thanks so much. I love pink but I don't own many pink pieces of clothing maybe this will be my new thrift mission.

Vix, Marissa red hair is quite stunning. I realized that I have many amazing red hair people in my life.
I got two close friends, my oldest daughter boyfriend is a Brit red and my youngest daughter has 4 very close friends that are also red heads.

I have to say that I'm not usually keen on pale pink but you, look fabulous in it. But then you always look fabulous, Ofelia.

Thanks for sharing your night out, it looked like a wonderful evening.

It looks like you lead a very fulfilling life, Ofelia! I love having the "other" side of my life~the creative one. Love that bag --as usual--it reminded me of the marshmello bags I used to have when I was a kid!

Loo, thanks so much! It was a fab evening and it makes me happy to look back at it because this week has being extremely stressful!

Paula, I never heard of marshmello bags but I'm going to goggle it!
I do tried to be part of things that I love and to support my family and friends in all of their endeavors.

You look absolutely stunning in pink!

BTW I totally relate to the not going out on a weekday :) I also get too exhausted after work/traffic, I am happy to be home. If I could always choose I would only go out on a Saturday and maybe Sunday (but not too late on that day) because on Friday (today) I just cannot get myself to move outsite of the couch :)

I love what you said about being interested to see how other people live, I am also that way, I am sooo curious that it almost hurts to leave earlier than others :) just in case I would miss something. I think I would love to meet you!! (too bad I live in Belgium :))

Angie, thanks so much!
After reading about you on your blog I can tell you that we do have many things in common.
Yes, I'm usually the last one to leave many of the vents that I attend.
I'm glad that we found each others blogs instead of traveling to each other countries!

Hi Ofelia, you really took us there with you. Strangely enough I don't see that very often on blogs anymore. Pink is a color I like but don't really wear. It's lovely to see you in an all-pink ensemble. Have great week!

Miss Aa, thanks so much for commenting on my blog and I'll be checking your blog!
