Saturday...

Saturday morning we headed to Flamingo Gardens for my youngest daughter's friends Eagle Scout Graduation...

She was going to the ceremony and I stayed around and enjoyed the heat, the greenery and the glamorous and loud peacocks...

I wore this Blue Planet skirt back in January with a different shirt and accessories.
Target green shirt (about 5 years old).
Sandals from Steinmart (anciently old).
Yellow, red and gold bracelet, thrifted last month.

Seed necklace worn as a bracelet.
New York&Company purse (about 7 years old).

Seed necklace thrifted back in February.
The other necklace was a present to my
daughter. She let me borrowed it for the day.

Skirt detail. The print is very ethnic and it reminds
me of my children's drawings!

Younger One and Me.
She is wearing my skirt (thrifted last week),
my fringe brown purse, my sunglasses and my accesories.
She basically raided my room!

Beautiful Mr. Peacock.

I got closer and talked to to him
in Spanish and asked him to turn my way...
And he did!

I'm not really close, just looks that way.
This gorgeous birds are very loud and territorial.
I kept my distance.

We were told that in the back of this
pathway is a bird sanctuary.
I want to go see it but my girl was to hot
to do any more walking.

Meeting new tree friends.

A view of the road.
He's in charge of holding the human traffic.

We got inside the car and blasted
the air conditioning!

A car with a view.

I took this photo before driving away...

I love looking at peacocks. I was at a park in Poland where the peahens were sitting in the lower branches of trees. They're really quite large and I thought they looked hilarious.

You both look gorgeous in your outfits! I've never seen white peacocks before - was it an albino? What a lovely place!

I can see that your daughter has the same great taste that you do!
When we were in Fl. in Feb. we saw lots of peacocks at the parks. Miss the weather down there!

Sue, thanks so much for your lovely compliments!
The birds were always in charge, they were very loud and territorial so we had to move and let them claim their land.

Loo, thanks so much!
I did not know that white peacocks were such a rarity, no wonder they were getting all the attention!

The peacocks are so beautiful! I love their vanity even- I wish the pics were bigger, so i could stare at them all day.

Your skirt print is wonderful, and your choice of handbags wrings my heart out everytime, this being no exception. And tell your babygirl- she is beautiful! xo. -Bella Q

I have encountered the green and blue peacocks before but I have never seen a white one. This one is gorgeous...and to think that he understands Spanish.

Reva just recently sent me a couple strands of seed necklaces and I love the weight of them.

Congratulations to your daughter on her accomplishment.

Terri, the white peacock was getting all the attention!
And yes he understood Spanish, lucky me!

I can't believe you got such a great picture of that beautiful peacock. Wow! I was running a couple days ago and saw a turkey vulture sitting on a fence about 20 feet away. That was the closest I've ever been to a bird of prey out of captivity. It was pretty cool. I love birds.

Fabienne, it was just luck that he let me take picture without going away or getting territorial or maybe it was the Spanish!
