Earth Day, Good Friday, Off from work...

Yesterday was a day off from work...
I spend about 41/2 hours on school work, cooked a non-meat small meal, dressed in yellow, spend time outside, cleaned, did laundry, called friends and family, planted some flowers seeds and took a 2 hours nap.
Yeah, I know living dangerously!!!!

This is called "moro" in Dominican Republic and
"arroz con habichuelas rojas" in Puerto Rico.

Love to boil my vegetables with a bit of apple cider vinegar
and a small pieces of garlic.

I started to eat before taking the picture.
The plate was way fuller before
the photo!

My youngest one did not wanted "all that cilantro"
on her plate.

My yellow shirt is from Target.
Shorts from Marshalls (more than 10 years old).
Red sunglasses (on top of my head) are another gift from oldest daughter.
All red accessories are present from friends
and co-workers.

The first necklace is from an old friend that move
to the Carolinas. The second one is from Steinmart
and it was giving to me by a co-worker.

Indian purse, a day rental from youngest daughter.

Bracelets were all gifts as well. Some of them are from
JCPenney and others from Macy's.

The view above!
Look, there is an opening in the skies...

 Love the cotton clouds!

My neighbor to the right is very nice
and has giant bamboo plants on his backyard.

The sky opening is closing.
Have a wonderful Easter! Love and sweets to all.....

Looks like your Good Friday was decidely good! The red jewelry is perfect with the yellow. What are the flowers in your photo...I don't recognize them.

Terri, its was a great busy day! I don't know the flowers name; they grow everywhere here in South Florida and come in many colors and have lots of thorns.

Your color combinations always make me so happy. The yellow and red - radiance!
Love the necklaces - I have to find a Steinmart someplace. You've mentioned it before. Your food looks delicious - what is the recipe for arroz con habicuelas rojas"? And the red dishes - how perfectly appetizing. Even your food is beautiful.
We are meatless now for a little over a month. It's 1:20 am and now I am too hungry to go to sleep.
I'm really serious about the recipe. That would be a good post, dontcha think?
Happy, blessed Easter to you and your girls.

Hi Ofelia,
Mustard and red are a very good combo, just like an indian curry. A question: are those bougainvilles in your garden? It looks like them though, I find them very pretty flowers.

Ofelia said...

Nefferth, thanks for the flowers name!
I absolute love them but never knew their name.
Indian curry is one of the best compliments ever and one of my favorite dishes!
