With a little help from my friends

Thanks to my friends Shefali and Judith this Christmas vacation I went out and enjoyed movies, lunches and a great cocktail party with lovely and wonderful people.
During the past 3 years I’d been consumed by the holidays frenzy and the constant coming and going as well as a very stressful division of time between my daughters and myself.

This year we ate, laughed and acted in a very slow and thoughtful matter about our time together, our past memories, my mom, my niece, their aunt Freida and all of the family and friends that had been part of our lives and that have help me survive single parenthood for the last 8 years.

With the support of my friends and some of my children's friend's mothers I was able to be in middle and elementary school for all of my girls important events. One of my favorite memory is when Ms. A., the receptionist at Plantation Middle asked me if T. was my only child and I told her no that I had another one in elementary school and at A’s elementary school (Nob Hill Elementary) her teacher though she was also my only child. Two years later the new receptionist at Plantation Middle asked the same question about A. and I said no again and that I had another child at Plantation High.

Now my oldest one is in her second year of college and my youngest one is in the 11th grade. I was assisted, supported, listened to and elevated by so many of my friends and family that are still in my life today and others that are not (for many particular reasons). This posting is for all of you. You know who you are and I’m glad that I get to say “Thank You” to you then and now.
